Agger debunk exit rumors

Daniel Agger took to twitter to debunk rumors he plans to exit Liverpool in January after telling a television channel in his country Denmark earlier.

The former Brondby player who moved to Liverpool on a six million pound deal in 2006, has indicated to the television channel he may decide to move on when the transfer window opens in January if he does not play.

The player has not started a game for the club since late September defeat to Southampton when he came off during the second half due to a rib injury. Agger’s chances since then has been limited after Rodgers decision to switch from a flat back four to a three-man central defence with Kolo Toure, Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho getting the nod over him.

Earlier in the summer transfer window, Liverpool rejects a 14.6 million pound offer from Barcelona.

Speaking to TV3 on what could make him leave Liverpool, the player was quoted as telling the broadcaster: “First of all, if I don’t play. If the manager doesn’t think I’m good enough, that could make me leave Liverpool.

“I’m here to play football, nothing else. So if I don’t play football, then I don’t want to be here anymore.”

Agger then took to Twitter on Tuesday to clarify his position and confirm he had no plans to leave the illustrious club anytime soon.
